CODE OF CONDUCT
England Netball Code of Conduct
All members of High Peak Netball Club are required to purchase a membership through England Netball. One of the
benefits and purpose of this is for players/coaches/umpires to be covered by insurance. The membership process with
England Netball requires members to agree and sign up to all the England Netball Codes of Conduct. High Peak
Netball club have an additional code of conduct below, which we require all members to adhere to.
High Peak Netball Club Code of Conduct
1. Have Fun!
2. All players must have a basic knowledge of the rules of netball and comply with participation safely, and in a
sporting and fair manner. This includes responding to rulings made by the umpires and adjusting play
accordingly.
3. Be ready to start on time, with suitable footwear, smooth short nails, hair suitably tied back. All jewellery
removed, with the exception of a wedding ring and medical bracelet which must be covered with tape.
4. Before the match starts, two captains toss for a choice of goal end or first centre pass and notify the scorers
and umpires of the result.
5. Respect the dignity and worth of all players and officials and always demonstrate a positive attitude.
6. Never argue with the official. Captains may approach the umpires at half time for a clarification of a rule.
7. Foul play of any type will not be permitted and shall be dealt with accordingly.
8. Applaud good tactical team play but never applaud team play for gaining an advantage through a non-tactical
error made by the opposition.
9. We accept that in competition, players/teams can at times get frustrated with their opponent during tactical
game play and for example contesting the ball. Keep discussions within your team and do not share
frustrations with other players/members from outside your team. All incidents/ infringements/ player
conflicts should be left on court.
10. Courtesy – A game cannot be played without umpires, so respect their decisions and thank them after the
game. Shake hands with your opponents and give “3 cheers” as a team.
11. Leave your team bench as you found it, clearing away any litter.
12. The league is run by volunteers who sometimes ask for help and support with organisation, fundraising and
other tasks. Support the league by helping where you can.
13. Support and value your captain and offer help with organising responsibilities.
14. Adhere to the High Peak Netball Club Social Media Policy (a copy can be found on our website –

15. Pay match subs on time.
16. Should you wish to make a complaint, please do so in writing to the Chair of the Committee. Complaints
should be made no sooner than 24 hours after the incident/action/issue that has triggered the complaint.
