What do we stand for?
In line with guidance from our governing body England Netball, High Peak Netball Club is dedicated to making netball a safe and fun place for everyone. The welfare of Children and Young People is paramount.
This policy is for all staff, volunteers, coaches, spectators and parents. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
How will we achieve this?
- We do not tolerate abuse or poor practice
- We listen to children
- We take concerns seriously
- We treat everyone with respect regardless of age, sex, gender, race, disability, sexuality or sexual orientation, religion
- We have processes for investigating concerns and managing risks
- We follow advice and support from the Lead Safeguarding Officer and Safeguarding team at England Netball.
- Our club has a designated volunteer safeguarding officer
- We recruit staff and volunteers safely
- We record and report concerns promptly, and treat them confidentially (except when necessary to share in order to protect children and promote their welfare)
- We share information about safeguarding with players and parents/carers where appropriate
- We create and maintain a caring culture in our organisation where people are free to speak out
- Breaches of this policy may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the EN Safeguarding Disciplinary Regulations
How do I report a concern?
There are a number of ways to report your concerns.
If you believe a Child or Young Person is in danger or at imminent risk of harm, contact the Police and other relevant emergency services by calling 999.
Report a safeguarding concern to our club’s Safeguarding Officer Katy Evans by email [email protected] or by completing our incident reporting form.
Hard copies of the reporting form are available at club sessions. These can be completed manually and returned to Katy Evans or you can ask any committee member or your captain for her phone number, if you would prefer to speak directly to her.
